Eagle Eye Launches GrantsWeb Service

New tool allows organizations and individuals to gain fast insights into $700 billion discretionary government grant market.

March 10, 2004

Eagle Eye, Inc. today announced the release of GrantsWeb, a powerful, new online research database that helps business developers quickly identify and track every federally funded grant project. GrantsWeb is designed particularly to help organizations identify and qualify grant funding sources for all their ongoing projects and to facilitate business-to-business cooperation between grantees and their supporting vendors and consultants.

GrantsWeb is the only database on the market that integrates full grant descriptions from the Catalogue of Federal Domestic Assistance with comprehensive, three-year spending histories for each grant and make this information available as an interactive, ad hoc reporting application. With discretionary grant spending amounting to over $700 billion annually, and other federal grants amounting to hundreds of billions more, the ability for researchers to easily mine this large, underutilized data source is long overdue.

"There is no better organization to do this work than Eagle Eye, Inc.," said Paul C. Light, Professor of Public Service, New York University and Senior Fellow, The Brookings Institution. "They are smart, incisive, and absolutely committed to accuracy. I trust them completely." While universities, research institutes and state and local governments are the most obvious beneficiaries of federal grants, businesses play a growing role in the grants network, both as recipients and as supporting vendors to state and local government agencies, research institutions and other large service providers.

Each year, over a million people are awarded hundreds of billions of dollars for projects in Public Safety, Homeland Security, HIV and Cancer Research, Business Innovation, Job Training, Food and Nutrition Services and hundreds more critical areas. "Finally, researchers can track program funding right to the source and develop their business strategy with a full understanding of the size and scope of each available grant," said Eagle Eye President Paul Murphy. "Complete program descriptions, spending histories, recipient rankings, market shares and program descriptions are now right at our fingertips."

To help researchers understand the wealth of new grant information now available, Eagle Eye is offering free, three-day trials of GrantsWeb at www.eagleeyeinc.com
